The U.S. Congress is in the process of passing the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which originally called for $49 billion in investments for transit nationally. This funding has already been cut by $10 billion, and restricted to only capital projects.
Marylanders deserve adequate, reliable transit. Right now, too many of us endure long, inefficient trips for work, education and health care—or are simply cut off from opportunities. And we’re all suffering the health effects and climate-related risks caused by emissions.
Congress needs to start investing in transit today.
